US Government - GSA Facilities, Standards for the Public Buildings Service
March 2003…..The U.S. Government follows
certain standards regarding all Public Buildings Service, including HVAC
equipment. The following recommendation is taken from the latest GSA Facilities
Standards document, #5 Mechanical, section 5.9, HVAC Systems and
Components.
"Ultraviolet light (C band)
emitters shall be incorporated downstream of all cooling coils and above all
drain pans to control airborne and surface microbial growth and transfer."
