Ventilation, Filtration & UV Disinfection! A strategy for safer and healthier buildings. The CDC issues all-new building guidance & recommendations for schools & child care programs for control of aerosol transmission. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made strong recommendations regarding the strategies facilities can implement including “UVGI…as a supplemental treatment to inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19, especially if options for increasing ventilation and filtration are limited.” It’s so important and exciting to see the inclusion of tested, validated technologies and strategies that schools can implement today and tomorrow for improving indoor air quality.
Here’s the CDC update as of February 26, 2021: Consider using ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) in schools and non-home-based childcare programs as a supplemental treatment to inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19, especially if options for increasing ventilation and filtration are limited.
